A little over a month two Sikh players of Indian National Team were forced to remove their turbans at 5th FIBA Asia Cup in China. Now again Indian U-18 Basketball Player, Anmol Singh was forces to remove his patka in 23rd FIBA Asia U-18 meet ongoing at Doha, Qatar.
On Wednesday, Anmol was permitted to play the match with Malaysia in Patka but after 10 minutes he was asked to remove his patka. Anmol Singh continued to play the match by tying a small strap on his head. BFI (Basketball Federation of India) strongly condemns FIBA Asia for forcing Anmol Singh to remove Patka and asks them to stop this discrimination against Sikh Players who represent India at International Level.
