Majithia on sit-in near Attari Border
Amritsar: Punjab's ruling party, Shiromini Akali Dal is holding protests against center government near the international borders. They are demanding greater security on the borders to stop the flow of narcotics into the state.

Cabinet Minister, Bikram Singh Majithia sat on a dharna today near Attari along Indo- Pak Border. Along with him there are senior Akali leaders- Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Nirmal Singh Kahlon and Sucha Singh.

On Sunday, Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir singh Badal said that it is the responsibility of central agencies to guard the border. He added that Punjab Police has seized most of the drugs which could have traveled across the country. 'We are being condemned instead of praise as we are fighting for nation's war', Mr. Badal said.

Former Punjab CM, Captain Amarinder Singh claimed that aim of Akali Dal protests is for pre-empting the BJP rally against drugs organized by Amit Shah on 12 January in Amritsar.

Apart from Attari, protests will also be held at Sadqi and Hussainiwala in Amritsar, Ferozepur and Fazilka border districts.
