In the densely populated state of Canada, Ontario Sikh bike riders are going to get relief from wearing helmet. This will be the fourth state of Canada where men wearing turban will not have to wear helmets while riding a bike. Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford declared that they will make it easy for Sikh men before Christmas.
In March 2018, Alberta became the third state of Canada which allow men wearing turban to ride a bike without helmet. Before this Columbia and Manitoba were the first two states to allow this. Whereas in Ontario, ex MP and NDP leader, Jagmeet Singh had put forward the bill regarding allowance of riding bike without helmet for Sikhs twice in 2013 and 2016 respectively but it was denied by former Permier of Ontario, Kathleen O'Day Wynne.
Actually, few years back, Baljinder Singh Badesha refused to wear the helmet and he had to pay the ticket of 110 dollars. Bdesha lost the case but now according tho the declaration of current Premier it seems that Sikhs will get relief from helmets soon.
