531 doctors, 4680 nurses, 2056 pharmacists and 1648 lab technicians have come forward to provide services in government hospitals and have registered themselves as volunteers to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. S. Balbir Singh Sidhu further informed that the Nursing and Para Medical staff, Nursing Homes and Diagnostic Labs in private hospitals, including doctors and other health staff working in Government hospitals, were approved by the Medical Council of India and ICICI (MICA). Identity cards have been issued on the basis of which they have been allowed to enter without any curfew pass.
Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said in a statement issued here today that as far as human resources is concerned, the health department has received a wide range of procedures from doctors and para medical staff from across the state. He said that besides the regular and contractual specialist doctors, doctors and para-medical staff, hundreds of doctors and para-medical staff have registered themselves as volunteers, all of whom are ready to provide their services to cope with the Kovid-19 epidemic. He said that about 8201 ward attendants and 243 radiographers have also registered as volunteers.
