Hong kong umbrella revolution: more than 80 thousand protesters demand freedom from china, jammed the roads

There is a new type of revolution occuring in hong kong- umbrella revolution. Actually, it is a revolution by the common people of hong kong demanding their right of freedom. They are protesting against chinese government. They want independence from china. This revolution is supported by all major political parties of hong kong. In this revolution, protestors are using umbrellas for defending themselves from water showers and police beating, naming it so. Hong kong has more than 80 lakh population. Out of this, about one lakh people have jammed the roads completely and are being supported by rest. However, the CEO of Hong kong has denied such any demand (hong kong is headed by china appointed CEO like a corporation).

This demand for self autonomy has deep roots in past. In 1997, Britain submitted Hong kong to China after ruling it for 150 years. However there were some conditions. China was not supposed to change the fundamental rights of its citizens, China could take decisions regarding foreign affairs of Hong kong only. Hong kong was supposed to be run like a corporate whose CEO would be chosen by a committee. China also agreed to hold independent elections after 20 years at that time. However, the committee which selects the CEO is always influenced by China. Moreover, last year China clearly stated that it has no idea of holding any type of elections in 2017 and making it autonomous territory.

As China failed to keep its words, the whole Hong kong is pouring high in anger. And this anger resulted into umbrella revolution.
